Wigli pays great attention to research. In 2009 the Dutch Insitute for Technology TNO investigated the contribution a Wigli has to offer to the recovery of back pain. In 2012, the Seminarium voor Orthopedagogiek investigated the effect of active sitting in children with attention disorder (wobble children)

Research by TNO 2009

In 2009 and at Wigli’s request, TNO conducted research into the Wigli W1.

The study focused particularly on whether people with back trouble can benefit from using the Wigli. The study found that the Wigli does help people with back trouble by providing for constant variation in body position. People do not take a lazy position, but constantly use their muscles while sitting and during seated working, thus keeping the back strong.

The study also found that users of the Wigli felt less tired mentally at the end of the working day.

Research by the Seminar of Orthopedagogy

In 2012 Wigli introduced the A1, a new chair specifically for children. This chair is very suitable for education settings, and particularly for children who find it hard to concentrate.

In that same year, the Seminar of Orthopedagogy (Utrecht University of Applied Sciences) examined how the Wigli can contribute to improving children’s attention for the lesson and for performing assignments.
The report states that sitting on a Wigli positively influences the ability to concentrate and to focus on tasks among children with concentration issues. What’s more, children enjoy sitting on a Wigli.
